Death Dealer Union Drops Empowering Anthem Featuring Lena Scissorhands

“Imagine a life where you are shining bright” is the opening lyric on this opus.  The video and track feels like the final journey DDU has in store for us.

This is the last video in a series of four videos from the debut record Initiation. “Beyond Heaven” is a six minute opus about finding the best version of yourself. It is the last song on the record and it is also the guiding theme throughout the whole album. You’ll notice that the opening track “Initiation” is the piano melody on the beginning of “Beyond Heaven”.

CC McKenna says, “The song ‘Beyond Heaven’ is one of my favorites on the record. It was written by myself and two gentlemen named Mark Wenzel, and Keith Wolter along with Lena Scissorhands, and Doug Weiand. The song is really about shedding the darkness that might hold you back or probably better said is that it’s about confronting the darkness within yourself; that you may acknowledge its beauty and move on to the highest version of yourself. All we have to do is collectively believe!… We present to you our final video and single for our first album Initiation.”

“Imagine a life where you are shining bright” is the opening lyric on this opus.  The video and track feels like the final journey DDU has in store for us.

In 2019, metal musicians CC McKenna (drums) and Doug Weiand (lead guitars) set forth on a dark musical path – aligning diverse metal influences with otherworldly channelings of alchemy, the occult and all things esoteric. Little did they know, the final ingredient of their impending amalgamation was on the horizon, set to emerge as DEATH DEALER UNION. After meeting acclaimed frontwoman Elena Cataraga (a.k.a. Lena Scissorhands of modern metal frontrunners Infected Rain), a musical pact was instantly formed – propelling the band into the studio with producer Valentin Voluta (also recognized for his work with Infected Rain) to conjure their lauded debut collaborations “Borderlines” and “Beneath The Surface”. The tracks went on to premiere in 2022 with top-notch music video visuals, garnering nearly 1 million views on YouTube alone to date.

Now, DEATH DEALER UNION return with two new members – Hunter Havok (rhythm and lead guitars) and Jonny Heinz (bass) – in tow to unleash their very first sacrificial offering to the masses. Their debut, Initiation, released September 22, 2023 via Napalm Records, brings forth the huge sound and exciting visuals fans experienced with the band’s previous offerings, plus an entire new trove of musical and lyrical elements. While no track is the replicant of another, they all weave a common thread of compelling essence that will have listeners clamoring to heed the word of DEATH DEALER UNION. Initiation kicks off with its instrumental title track, droning deeply into electronic flourishes and spine-tingling organs. The track flows into first album single “The Vow of Silence” – a fast-paced burner featuring aggressive verses and a catchy chorus that fully showcases the album’s immense production, once again helmed by Valentin Voluta. “ILL FATED” juxtaposes 80s-influenced clean guitars and sinister metallic riffs as Elena Cataraga displays her dynamic trademark vocal delivery and introspective wordplay, while later, “The Integument” – which features a sizzling music video accented by heavy metal dance troupe Cherry Bombs – turns the pace all the way up with traditional power metal flavor before transforming into a ghostly, hypnotizing soundscape. Tracks such as “Ekphrasis” and “Mythos” – the latter boasting one of the album’s most heart-stopping guitar solos – are rife with chunky 90s heavy metal and even nu-metal-inspired riffage. “The Big Blue”, “Back To Me”, “The Downfall” and “Anew” dance with metal styles ranging from symphonic power to progressive, showcasing the band’s diverse macrocosm of musical skill, before potent, heavy ballad “Love Me When I’m Ugly” provides heartfelt lyrics and melodies. Initiation ends with “Beyond Heaven”, an opus of expansive harmonies and eerie embellishments, closing the album with its most theatrical cut. Not only does Initiation offer fans the chance to witness Elena Cataraga’s alter ego on raw display, it introduces the band as an intriguing force to be reckoned with. Find your own power within DEATH DEALER UNION – your Initiation is only the beginning!

SEBASTIAN BACH Embarks On 2024 “What Do I Got To Lose Tour” With Shows In Latin And North America

SEBASTIAN BACH will hit the road in 2024 for an international tour with dates in Latin and North America. The singer, songwriter, author, Broadway star, and actor’s “What Do I Got To Lose Tour”—a mix of solo gigs and festival appearances—kicks off with an international run of performances in Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, and Chile before North American shows in the U.S. and Mexico. The stateside tour gets underway May 10 in Jefferson, LA before wrapping June 29 in San Diego, CA. Tickets for the North American shows go on sale Friday, March 1at 10:00 AM (local time), with pre-sale tickets are available Thursday, February 29 at 10:00 AM (ET). Click HERE for all ticketing info and to purchase tickets.

“We are super excited to embark upon the What Do I Got to Lose? Tour 2024!,” SEBASTIAN BACH says. “This is the first song that I’ve ever had on U.S. rock radio with my solo band and I cannot thank you all enough–radio stations for playing this song and all you rock fans out there for cranking it up! Can’t wait to play live for all of you this summer no tapes no fakes all real all the time that is how we roll! See you on the road mothertruckers!”

This news follows SEBASTIAN’s exciting end to 2023, which included an appearance on Fox’s The Masked Singer as “Tiki,” a fan and judge favorite who went on to show’s Group B Finals. As ROLLING STONE noted, “Ahead of Tiki’s reveal, panelist Nicole Scherzinger applauded his performance, saying, “You’re a brilliant vocalist, you can do anything with your voice…’”

Following his final performance on the show in December, SEBASTIAN released What Do I Got To Lose?” (Reigning Phoenix Music), marking his first new music in ten years. The track—which continues to build momentum at rock radio, trending in the Top 40 on the Mediabase’s Active Rock Daily spin chart–was co-written by SEBASTIAN, Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge, Slash) and Elvis Baskette (Mammoth WVH, Slash), the latter of whom also served as the track’s producer. Guitars lock into a heart-thumping groove on the song as SEBASTIAN’s voice rings out on the refrain, “I’m holding on for judgment day.The momentum gives way to a fret-burning lead. For the video, SEBASTIAN is joined by his former Skid Row bandmate, drummer Rob Affuso.

2023 saw FROM ASHES TO NEW achieve their fifth-ever Top 10-charting rock radio single with “Hate Me Too”—one of “The Most-Played Songs On Rock Radio in 2023” via Loudwire– taken from their critically acclaimed #1-charting concept album BLACKOUT released earlier that year via Better Noise Music. Find BLACKOUT on digital download, CD, vinyl or cassette at https://fatn.ffm.to/blackoutalbum. HINDS Return With First New Single in 4 Years

Beloved Madrid band Hinds are back today with a glorious bang, sharing a new song entitled Coffee.” “Coffee” is the band’s first new single in 4+ years, and marks Hinds’ return to the original duo of co-vocalists and co-guitarists Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote.

Produced by Pete Robertson (The Vaccines, beabadoobee) and mixed by the Grammy-winning engineer Caesar Edmunds (The Killers, Wet Leg), “Coffee” heralds a fresh and invigorated era for Hinds. The track doubles down on what is so special about Hinds – the bright melodies betraying difficult universal themes, delivered with an empowering and exuberant punk attitude. “Coffee” is a welcome return from one of the most exciting bands of the past decade, and is the start of more exciting news to come from Hinds later this year.

Hinds say:

“Coffee is a sincericide, screaming the nasty truth as loud as you can with no shame. It’s about admitting to all the things you’re not supposed to like or doing all the things you’re not meant to do. It’s a lot of fun when you can be fully honest and shut that little voice in your head that tells you what you should or shouldn’t do.”

Hinds will return stateside in a few weeks to perform a series of shows at SXSW in Austin, followed by two sold-out shows in NYC. A full run-down of their performances is below.

Making their debut with the Bandcamp-released singles “Bamboo” and “Trippy Gum” in

2014, the duo of Cosials and Perrote quickly caught the attention of tastemaker press, and penned global record deals that kicked off their meteoric rise. Shortly after, Hinds began earning buzz as a must-see live band, and became one of the biggest indie acts ever to emerge from Spain. The band have released three albums – 2016’s Leave Me Alone, 2018’s I Don’t Run and 2020’s The Prettiest Curse – earning mass critical acclaim. With those releases, the band made their television debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, won over crowds at festivals like Coachella and Glastonbury, played nearly 500 shows globally (with many of them sold-out), opened for the likes of Coldplay and The Strokes, worked with brands like Chanel and Stella McCartney, started their own limited edition cruelty-free makeup line, have been included in various movie soundtracks, and have hosted their own festival PARTY PLANET. Across a decade of raucous musical highs, Hinds have blazed a trail with their unapologetically honest, raw, fun, charming music always at the forefront.

CABAL Release “If I Hang, Let Me Swing” (JOHN CXNNOR Rework)

Having just returned from the European leg of their Magno Interitus headline tour, there’s no rest for the wicked for Danish deathcore maniacs CABAL. They’ve released a new rework of their song ‘‘If I Hang, Let Me Swing’, which saw the band partner with Danish industrial-techno collective JOHN CXNNOR. The result of this energetic collaboration sees the light of the day today. Listen to the song here:
https://cabal.bfan.link/IIHLMS-RW
Singer Andreas Bjulver states:
“John Cxnnor are one of our favorite acts on the Danish scene, the way they manage to bridge the gap between electronic music and metal is truly impressive and since we’ve already collaborated with them on a bunch of tracks, having them do a complete rework of one seemed like a no brainer to us. We couldn’t be happier with the result, this is electronic music at it’s hardest and grittiest.”

‘If I Hang, Let Me Swing (John Cxnnor Rework)’ was taken from the band’s latest album Magno Interitus that was released on October 21st via Nuclear Blast. The album is available as Digipack [limited edition], Black Single LP, Crystal Clear with Gold + Black Splatter Single LP [limited to 500 units, Mailorder + Wholesale exclusive], Crystal Clear with Red + Black Splatter Single LP [limited to 500 units, USA exclusive], Gold + Black Marble Single LP [limited to 300 units, bandshop exclusives] and on all streaming platforms.

CABAL is one of the most brutal and promising heavy acts hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band aims to create a visceral and doom-laden atmosphere throughout both their music and visual expression. The production is crystal clear, whilst the songwriting draws inspiration from everything from black and death metal to djent and hardcore. Since the release of their debut album “Mark of Rot” in 2018, the young band has managed to make a name for themselves in both Denmark and the rest of the world by playing renowned festivals like Copenhell, Roskilde Festival, Euroblast Festival and Complexity Fest as well as touring in Europe, Japan and North America.
CABAL released the sophomore album “Drag Me Down” in April 2020 – a dark descent into a personal hell brought to life by crushing instrumentals, an oppressive atmosphere and dark personal lyrics delivered with relentless intensity, while still leaving room for experimentation and expansion of CABAL’s signature sound. Add to this guest appearances from metal titans TRIVIUM‘s Matt Heafy, rising metalcore stars POLARIS’ Jamie Hails and Denmark’s Blackgaze darlings MØL’s Kim Song Sternkopf and there is no doubt that CABAL is a band with friends in every corner of the metal scene.

About Magno Interitus

In the early winter of 2022, CABAL marked a new era with the release of Magno Interitus. Singer Andreas Bjulver Paarup says: “The main theme on the album is the great decay happening all around us. It seems that everything just falls apart in these days. This applies to politics, society in general as well as some personal things. We tried to translate the feelings that we have about the state of the world into music.”

CABAL are not only charting new territory with their visceral and doom-laden sound but are also moving out of the comforts of their dark, black and white signature aesthetic into bright colours inspired from Ari Asters latest masterpiece, ‘Midsommar’. Flowers, vines and eerie cultist May Queens are amongst the new visual elements that define the aesthetic of Magno Interitus.

Andreas, who is the art director and lyricist in the band, is excited about the new direction of the album: “We have a kind of base sound, our safe home. From there, we can experiment and try something new. On Magno Interitus we really left our comfort zone and went deeper into the details and extremes than ever before. You can hear it on the title track, as well as on the opener “If I Hang, Let Me Swing” or on “Exsanguination”. These are my personal three favourites on the album at the moment.”

Once more, CABAL brought in some extraordinary features on the album such as Joe ‘Bad’ Badolato of Fit For An Autopsy on Magno Interitus, as well as Simon Olsen from the Danish band BÆST on the track “Insidious”. This time around, CABAL also experimented with a completely different format by inviting the dark, industrial duo ‘John Cxnnor’ to co-create the very unique track “Blod af Mit”.

CABAL is:
Andreas Bjulver Paarup – Vocals
Christian Hammer Mattesen – Guitars
Chris Kreutzfeldt – Guitars
Lui Broch Larsen – Guitars
Dennis Hursid – Bass
Nikolaj Kaae Kirk – Drums

Life’s Question combine hardcore and lush melody on new single and video “When I Meet God”

Life’s Question defines themselves as “the real deal,” but the five-piece band are more than your average hardcore act. Today the band announces their upcoming EP, Life’s Question, set for release April 19th on their new label home, Flatspot Records. Following their 2022 full-length World Full Of…, the band elevate their blend of crushing hardcore meets classic rock riffs across the six songs. Lead single, “When I Meet God,out now, showcases the band’s knack for melody while also giving a tough as nails delivery. Josh Haynes’ gruff vocal approach finds juxtaposition in the lush vocals supplied by guitarist Abby Rhine, shifting “When I Meet God” through moments of serenity amongst the chaos.

The story-driven video for the track, directed and produced by Luis Hernandez, explores the darker side of life, resulting in a dynamic fusion of music and imagery. It taps into the band’s experiences with death, depression, loss and heartbreak, and how the existence of God falls into these types of situations, as exemplified in the song’s lyrics. You can watch the video HERE and preorder the EP through Flatspot Records.

Life’s Question will hit the road supporting Koyo, One Step Closer, and Anxious starting tomorrow in Hamden, CT at Space Ballroom. The band will also appear at South By Southwest with a performance at Flatspot World on March 16th. Full dates below.

Life’s Question is Josh Haynes (vocals), Abby Rhine (guitar/vocals), Ridge Rhine (guitar), AJ Hoenings (bass), and Nick Barker (drums).
